Sherry Poff , writer and board member, will judge August’s submissions! She grew up in the hills of West Virginia. She now lives and writes in and around Chattanooga, Tennessee. Sherry holds an MA in Writing from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and is a member of the Chattanooga Writers’ Guild. Her stories and poems have appeared in numerous online and print publications including Artemis, Speckled Trout Review,and Pine Mountain Sand and Gravel. Sherry feels her best outdoors, but can also be found curled up with hot tea and a good book on a rainy day.
August’s theme is Secrets and genre is Fiction. Deadline to submit is August 31, 2023. Winners will be announced in September.

Our Monthly Contests open on the 1st of each month and close on the last day, with one winner and one runner-up announced the following month. Winners receive $25, and winners and runners-up receive publication in The Pulse and our anthology, and one free copy, available in 2024.
