This event is open to both members and nonmembers. Participants have the opportunity to win cash prizes and are considered for publication in our annual anthology.
This contest is open to all writers, ages 18 and older, living within 70 miles of Chattanooga, and all current Chattanooga Writers’ Guild members, regardless of location. Your submission must have never been published, other than in a personal blog, and must be your own original work.

+ Creative Culinary Creation: A food-related piece + recipe. For this category, we invite you to submit a complementary recipe with your food-related story or poem. (Recipes will not be part of the judging process.) If your piece is chosen for the CWG 2021 Anthology, your recipe will be published, as well! Photos of your dish are accepted but not required.
Prose entries have a maximum of 2,500 words, and poetry maximum is 50 lines or 500 words.
Awards:
Cash Prizes:
1st Place in Fiction, Creative Nonfiction, Poetry, and Creative Culinary Creation each receive $100; 2nd Place winners each receive $50; 3rd Place winners each receive $25; Total of Cash Prizes = $700.
Publication: All winners receive publication in the CWG 2021 Anthology and all finalists are candidates for publication. Note: this award is contingent upon successful publication of the anthology. CWG reserves the right to not publish objectionable material and reserves the editorial rights for every piece.
All authors published in the anthology receive one copy mailed to the address provided.
Other Benefits: Winning entries are announced in CWG publications and promotions. Winners may be offered opportunities to present their work at CWG events.

Early Bird fees (May 1-May 31):
CWG Member rate: $5per entry
Non-member rate: $10per entry.
Regular fees (June 1-June 15):
CWG Member rate: $7 per entry
Non-member rate: $12 per entry.

Multiple submissions are allowed within each Google Form.
Payment is calculated by multiplying the number of submissions by the rate.
Your submission is not finalized until payment has been received. You may pay by PayPal (link inside Google Form) or by check. All online payments must be made by midnight, June 15, and all checks postmarked by June 15.
Photos:
Photos are encouraged to be submitted with the culinary entries and may be included in the anthology but are not part of the judging process.
Photos that accompany other submissions may also be included and may also be included in the anthology with winning entries.
