Gritty South call for submissions

Bluewater Publications in Florence, AL, is looking for submissions for their upcoming Gritty South anthologies centering on fatherhood and motherhood.

Note: You do not have to be a parent in order to write a submission. You are welcome to submit to either anthology, or both!

For these anthologies, they are seeking stories that represent the gritty, Southern parenthood experience—stories that aren’t afraid to tell it like it is and display the less attractive, less discussed side of fatherhood and motherhood, but that also have a redeeming quality. Something that might encourage men and women in their journey as a father or mother, teach them how to not repeat the mistakes of their own father or mother, and/or inspire them to be a better parent to their children. Submissions can be any fiction or non-fiction work (prose preferred over poetry) and should be within 3000-6000 words.

Please email your submission to as a .doc or .docx file, along with a short biography of yourself and links to all social media platforms.
