Lit/South Awards open to submissions soon

Charlotte Lit is a nonprofit literary arts and writing center in Charlotte, NC. The second annual Lit/South Awards offers generous prizes (starting with $1,500 for first place) in three categories — poetry, fiction, and nonfiction — plus publication in the print journal, Litmosphere. The competition is open to current and past residents of North Carolina and its border states — Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. Last year they received more than 450 entries from across the nation. Entries are accepted September 1 to November 1. Finalists will be judged by a fantastic team: Melissa Febos in nonfiction, Bryn Chancellor in fiction, and A. Van Jordan in poetry.

The Charlotte Lit weekly newsletter reaches more than 1800 people, and their social media followers are several thousand more. You can find out more about their organization at charlottelit.org and the Lit/South Awards HERE.
