Flash Challenge: This weekend ONLY

Fractured Lit’s The Fast Flash Challenge is open for submissions now through Monday. From their press release:

Challenge Prompt:
For this challenge, we want stories based on the theme of “Bread Crumbs”. Inspired by the fairytale of Hansel and Gretel, we want writers to take us into worlds old and new, to twist the feeling of being lost and found, to plant the seeds of conflict and tension, to call their characters to act in surprising, but resonant ways! Consider new ways of putting your characters “into the woods” of their stories, seeking innovative ways to find their way out of the trees.Submissions will be capped to keep the turnaround on decisions quick, so please register early if you can!

How it works:
1. You write some micro stories! 100 words or fewer for each story, and make sure it utilizes the specific prompt “Bread Crumbs” from above. Every submission should be written and original within this 72 hour window.
2. You send us your stories! Each submission into the challenge of 3 stories or less has a $20 reading fee for the whole challenge. Make sure to put all the stories into a single document. Double-space your submission and use Times New Roman 12 pt font, in English only please. Every story will be considered for publication in our regular issue as well.
3. At the end of June, round two begins! We’ll announce 40 finalists and will give them a new unique prompt and a new 72 hour window to submit 3 more 100 word stories.
4. In July, we’ll announce the resulting winners from the new stories! $500 to the winner with the best 100 word story, and $100 to two runners-up, and all three will have their selected stories published on Fractured Lit.We can’t wait to read your work!
