Meet your May 2023 Monthly Contest Judge

Natalie Kimbell, Board Member of the Chattanooga Writers’ Guild, will judge this month’s submissions!

Natalie Kimbell has spent forty years as an educational professional focusing on English, Creative Writing and Theater Arts. Her work has appeared in The Pulse,  The Monterey Poetry Review, Pine Mountain Sand and Gravel’s: Appalachian Unmasked and  the Mildred Haun Review. Her stories have also won prizes from the Tennessee Mountain Writers’, and Grace Writers’ competitions. May call for submissions is Fiction with the theme of Dreams and Nightmares. Writers are invited to interpret that as loosely or closely as they wish. Deadline to submit is May 31, 2023 with a 1500 word limit. Winners announced in June.

Our Monthly Contests open on the 1st of each month and close on the last day, with one winner and one runner-up announced the following month. Winners receive $25, and winners and runners-up receive publication in The Pulse and our anthology with one free copy, available in 2024. Monthly Contests are available to current members of the Chattanooga Writers’ Guild only, and are free to enter. To become a member, click HERE
