Join us tonight for our first Monthly Meeting of 2023

Our guest speaker will be Christian Collier, who will be speaking on the subject of “Submissions.” Christian J. Collier is a Black, Southern writer, arts organizer, and teaching artist who resides in Chattanooga, TN. He is the author of Greater Ghost (Four Way Books, 2024), and the chapbook The Gleaming of the Blade, the 2021 Editors’ Selection from Bull City Press. His works have appeared in December, North American Review, Hayden’s Ferry Review, The Michigan Quarterly Review, and elsewhere. A 2015 Loft Spoken Word Immersion Fellow, he is also the winner of the 2022 Porch Prize in Poetry and the 2020 ProForma Contest from Grist Journal.

Christian will join us online, and attendees are welcome to also join online through this link: meet.google.com/okg-sejh-ifm, or to come in person to the large conference room on the 5th floor of the Edney Building, at the corner of Market and 11th Street. The meeting will start at 6:00 PM Eastern and we will open by welcoming members to share their recent accolades. We also invite authors to bring any books they have to sell. Our presentation will begin at 6:30.

The Edney locks its doors at 6:30, so please do not arrive late. Street parking is free after 6:00 PM, and there is also free parking behind the Bessie Smith Cultural Center, just a couple blocks away. The Chattanooga Writers’ Guild’s Monthly Meetings are free and open to the public.
