Pre-pandemic, the CWG used to hold all of its events in person. Then, like most everyone else, we switched to online-only for most of 2020 and 2021. In 2022 we began hosting hybrid events, where we invited people to gather in person for some events, log in to Zoom for others, or a mixture of both. We have found this to be a successful model, allowing those who prefer one method or the other to choose where and how they join us. We need someone who can continue organizing events for us!
What sort of events does the CWG hold each year? With Board elections each September, that typically means the first major event is our end-of-year holiday party. Throughout the year, you’ll work with the Program Director to secure physical spaces or Zooms for our Monthly Meetings and Workshops. You may also wish to organize open-mics, dinner or weekend socials, picnics and potlucks, special member events such as book launches and readings, or perhaps work on bringing the Readers and Writers’ Fair back to Chattanooga. The year will conclude with the gathering in September.
