WANTED: A Contest Director

One of the best things about the Chattanooga Writers’ Guild is our contests! Each year we hold a contest in the Spring where we invite all CWG members and Chattanooga locals to send us their fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry. And for the last two years, we’ve been holding themed monthly contests, as well. These contests are a lot of fun, inexpensive (or even free!) to enter, have quick judge turnaround, and include cash prizes and publication for winners.

But they can only continue if we have people willing to organize them for us! Being a Contest Director means organizing judges, deciding on themes, finalizing rules and rubrics, and promoting the contest. The Contest Director will also work with the Anthology Editor to provide content and the Treasurer to set a budget.

If you are interested in being a Contest Director, please email Calvin Beam at calvin.beam@chattanoogawritersguild.org.
