Info for July’s Monthly Meeting

Natalie Kimbell will be leading our July monthly meeting with a writing workshop she likes to call “Tapping the Keg.” This will be a spirited workshop where participants will work as individuals and play as a group to generate a brew of ideas, finding perhaps a fictional starter for a fictional draft, the froth of a poem, or the suds of memory to take home to craft something of their own. Natalie is a UTC graduate and has 40 years experience as a teacher of English, theater, and creative writing. She lives in Sequatchie County, Tennessee, is a mother of two, and a grandmother of four. Her poetry is published in The 2019 Chattanooga Writers’ Guild AnthologyThe 2020 Garfield Lake Review, The 2020 Chattanooga Writers’ Guild Anthology, the 2021 Appalachian Writers Anthology, Dorothy Allison Version ,and The American Diversity Report. Her work appears in the 2021/22 Women of Appalachia Project’s “Women Speak” anthology, the anthology Beautiful: In the Eye of the Beholder, and in online issue 82 2022 second quarter in Abyss and Apex. She will be published this fall in The PulseMonterey Poetry Review, and in Pine Mountain Sand and Gravel, Appalachian, UnMasked.

Natalie also serves on the board of the Chattanooga Writers’ Guild. Publication of her nonfiction piece, Attention Deficit Lollapaloosa is in the soon to be released Chattanooga Writers Anthology .
