With a degree in Communications from the University of Southern Mississippi, Austin has extensive experience as a news reporter, journalist and television anchor. He has written for broadcast and print, and his stories range from nostalgia, science fiction and fantasy to humor.
Austin is a veteran and, in addition to his writing, he is also an avid collector of vinyl recordings, the operator of an internet radio station, and a cook specializing in Cajun and Southern cuisine.
He is married to Brenda Gardenhire Austin and the couple make their home in Chattanooga.
