Non-Fiction Submission Period Closing 12/31

For a few more days, we are open to submissions of Non-Fiction with the theme of Toys. Writers are invited to interpret that as loosely or closely as they wish. Deadline to submit is December 31, 2024, with a 1,500 word limit per piece.

Submitting to the Chattanooga Monthly Contest Series is a great way to showcase your work, gain recognition, and get published. Here are some tips to improve your chances:

Our Monthly Contests will open on the 1st of each month and close on the last day, with one winner and one runner-up announced the following month. First place winner receives $50. The winner and a runner-up will have works submitted for publication in The Pulse and be considered for publication in our next anthology available next year. (Anthology contributors receive a complimentary copy.) Monthly Contests are available to current members of the Chattanooga Writers’ Guild only, and are free to enter. To become a member, click HERE.

The Monthly Contests rotate through a pattern of Poetry, Fiction, and Creative Nonfiction throughout the year, with a new theme each month. Go to the 2024 Monthly Contest Series Info page to view the genre and theme for each month.

Sneak Peak at the next two contest themes: January will be poetry on the theme “Traces.” And February will be fiction works on “Cave / cave-in.”
