Monthly Events for 2023-2024

Please join us for our Monthly Meetings! These meetings are always the second Tuesday of the month at 6 PM, and are free and open to the public. They may be virtual, in-person, or a hybrid. We meet in the large conference room on the 5th floor of the Edney Innovation Center building, 1100 Market Street in downtown Chattanooga, unless otherwise described below. If it’s not listed below, please check our Facebook Page or search under our Latest News for the most up-to-date information on where the meeting will be held for a specific month. Our Meetings are great opportunities to meet other writers in your community!

Our Monthly Meetings usually include a Program. We invite established writers, educators, networkers, editors, promoters, publishers, and other professionals to share their tips for success with us. This is a service we offer to anyone who wishes to improve their craft or learn more about different aspects of writing and the writing industry.

Workshops are usually held on Saturdays, and have a small fee. CWG members receive a discount. Workshops are led by the same quality presenters listed above, but include the opportunity for attendees to practice the craft with the presenters. There is usually time to share and receive feedback, as well.

September 12, 2023 – Annual Meeting & Elections. Please join us for a potluck dinner (we’ll provide the entrées and drinks, you provide the sides and desserts), a canned food collection, a book swap (please bring it wrapped so we can play a game), open mic, and more! We will be on the 5th floor of the Edney Building, 1100 Market Street, starting at 6 PM. The Edney locks its doors at 6:30, so please do not be late!

On Saturday, September 23rd, we will have a table at Be My Neighbor Day, hosted by local PBS affiliate WTCI. Bring your kiddos and come say Hi!
