Members' Writing Resolutions
To complete my book proposal for "Stories of Victory: When the Pain Remains"
--Phyllis Q. Freeman
In 2010, I resolve to continue writing in my journal every morning and to
find more concentrated writing time for my writing projects: Poems,
childhood and immigration stories, Rules for Crafting Poetry and How to
Break Them (Very tentative title). I hope to publish several poems and a
poetry chapbook, a CD of stories, and--together with John Mannone and KB
Ballentine--to move the Rules book several steps closer to completion and
publication. I plan to research my grandmother's life for a biography to
accompany her poems. Check out my website at www.finnbille.com .
--Finn Bille
If I write two pages and walk two miles every day in 2010, I will lose pounds and gain a sequel to my book. I'm not making any promises, just hanging a skinny carrot on a long stick.

Leave a Written Legacy, Write Your Family Stories
Record what life was like before cell phones, before Blackberries, before FAX machines and video games, before families were too busy and were scattered all over the country and around the world. Each has a unique story. By the end of the week, each student will have several stories completed and written in an entertaining and interesting form. Each student will take home a number of tools he/she can use after the week is over. By the end of the week, each student will have several stories completed and written in an entertaining and interesting form. Each student will take home a number of tools he/she can use after the week is over. They may recover old memories using family photos, keepsakes and drawings. In the small class, members will feel comfortable and enjoy sharing with classmates in a friendly atmosphere. This class is for beginning to intermediate writers who want to get started or who need motivation and ideas to continue a project in progress.
Students spend a week in a mountain setting in the southwestern part of North Carolina, where there is very little snow in February.
