CWG Member Lantz Powell Gives Speech on "How to Make Your Memoirs Come to Life"
--provided from an article by Anne Ford Melton, new CWG member and member of the Colonial Dames
On November 12, Lantz Powell made a presentation to the statewide meeting of The National Society of Colonial Dames of America in the State of Tennessee. He encouraged the women present to put their individual memoirs in writing.
At the beginning of the meeting, Lantz asked for a show of hands of those members presently writing about their families and their lives. A few raised their hands. At the end of his talk, he asked the members, "Now who will be writing memoirs?" Everyone raised her hand.
His challenge to the audience? Start writing every day. He provided handouts which included the guidelines he'd outlined in his speech to the attendees. Anne's own memoir guidelines were also distributed.

Never forget: This very moment, we can change our lives. There never was a moment, and never will be, when we are without the power to alter our destiny.
