ChattaRosa Adding Members We are a writing group just for women. But it's not just a writers' group, it's a place for women to explore their lives and their writings. We meet once a month and read our writing and share "exorcises" we do as homework in between the meetings. It's really a serious group of women who end up having a lot of fun and helping each other through writer's block, truth telling, and celebrations. Our basic premise comes from the book: Secrets of the Zona Rosa: How Writing (and Sisterhood) Can Change Women's Lives. If you think you might be interested, please contact: Carol White carolwhite70@gmail.com. [This is not a CWG group.]

National Society of Arts and Letters (NSAL) 2010 Literature Competition in Writing the Short Story NSAL promotes young artists, and this competition is for contestants ages 18-33. Since Tennessee does not have a chapter of NSAL, young writers in Tennessee may enter through chapters in other states. The closest is Birmingham, AL. The first prize awarded by the Birmingham Chapter is only $500, but the first place winner is automatically entered in the national contest with a first prize of $10,000. Please see NSAL's website for more details: http://www.arts-nsal.org/ .
